Check your belongings and any travel companions before assuming the key is lost. Explain whether it is visible inside the locked vehicle, missing, damaged or not working. Do not force a door or lock to retrieve it.

If someone is in immediate danger inside the vehicle, contact emergency services. Otherwise, wait in a safe place and contact airport staff if you need help locating the car or understanding parking access.

Share the terminal or parking facility, level, row and space number where available. Include a nearby sign or landmark and any height, entry or access restrictions. Confirm whether the provider can reach the vehicle before booking.

Airport parking arrangements and charges can change. Check the airport's current information or ask parking staff instead of relying on an old description of a garage, lot or entrance.

Provide the year, make, model, key type and whether a working spare exists. Unlocking a car and replacing all lost keys are different jobs. Confirm vehicle compatibility, parts availability, the current arrival estimate and the work required.

Ask for a quote including labor, travel, parking or access charges, parts, cutting, programming and applicable tax. Agree on changes after inspection before additional work starts. Ask about payment methods and request an itemized receipt.

Tell the airline promptly if a key problem may affect your flight. Ask about the rules for your ticket, rebooking, checked baggage and what to do next. Do not assume the flight will be held, a fee waived or expedited screening provided.

If you have insurance or roadside assistance, ask the provider what is covered and whether approval is needed before booking. A locksmith receipt does not establish that missed-flight or replacement costs will be reimbursed.

Physically check that you have your keys before leaving the parked car. Keep them in a secure pocket or bag compartment and save the parking location. Arrange secure access to a tested spare if practical.

For phone-based vehicle access, follow the manufacturer's instructions and plan for a discharged or unavailable phone. Do not leave the only backup access method inside the locked vehicle.
